Discussion

Redditor25:

Couple of questions to flat earthers:

If you stand on the edge of the earth wouldn't you just get pulled back to the middle due to gravity being at the center of earth? Is our force of gravity correct (if the earth is flat wouldn't the mass be less and there by the force of gravity being lower)? Why are all other planets round and the earth flat?

Repulsive_Grand4746:

I am not a flat earther but I am a skeptic who is unsure.

You have an idea you call gravity based on what you observe and were taught, but gravity might not exist in the way you think it does. So if the earth is flat it will not necessarily pull everything to the center.

Perhaps if there really are other planets, and those planets are round, and this planet is flat, then it would be for the same reason apples are round and tables are flat. Created for difference purposes or by different means.

One of Globe Earther's biggest fallacies is appealing to population, and one of their biggest problems is being so gullible.

Redditor25:

So your saying that there is a force always under us that will always pull us to that point?

NASA has found 5000 planets in total, which are all round. NASA has also made a estimate of there being around 10^25 planets in our universe. If all planets were round except ours then that would be a 1 in 10^25 (which btw is a 1 with 26 zero's) chance of ours being flat. If we only count the discovered planets (5000) then that chance would be 1 in 5000 of the earth being flat. Might not seem much, but we haven't accounted for the many 'but what if it was not' arguments. Ofcourse we are ignoring the visual proof of many austronauts going to space.

No. Where do you think I said that?

You are reading things that are not in my post. Is that how you read your NASA articles?

NASA has found 5000 planets in total, which are all round. NASA has also made a estimate of there being around 1025 planets in our universe. If all planets were round except ours then that would be a 1 in 1025 (which btw is a 1 with 26 zero's) chance of ours being flat. If we only count the discovered planets (5000) then that chance would be 1 in 5000 of the earth being flat. Might not seem much, but we haven't accounted for the many 'but what if it was not' arguments.

How do you know a U.S. government agency found a total of 5,000 planets?

What are the chances of them finding a total of 5,000 at the time of you telling me this and not 4,999 or 5,001?

Ofcourse we are ignoring the visual proof of many austronauts going to space.

Perhaps you have seen astronauts go to space. On your digital screen. We also see Godzilla and undead monsters on our digital screens.

Do we have visual proof Godzilla is real? Because I have only seen astronauts go to space in the same boxes I saw Godzilla in.
